See the silvers? Almost all grown in! |
If you are thinking about it, I will warn you that this process is not for the feint of heart! But I can say that I'm very happy that I decided to do this. To be honest, I get more compliments on my hair now than I ever did while I was coloring it. I think the trick is to use purple shampoo occasionally to keep the silvers from getting brassy and to make them shine.
Making my List, Checking it (off) Twice: I have my half marathon training plan posted on the refrigerator. I've now successfully checked off the first two workouts. Both were listed as "30 min" which I completed on the bike trainer while I'm waiting for my toe and knee to get better. Tomorrow I plan for an easy walk of 4-ish miles and Saturday will be my "5 mile long run" which may end up translating to an hour on the trainer. I'm convinced that the key to my success will be flexibility, adaption, and a positive attitude!
Race Planning: I'm eyeing the local Sweetheart Run, scheduled for Feb 9th, for my comeback run. Not thinking of it as a race so much as a fun run. It will be held the weekend of the first week that I expect to be able to run. It's a special event to me because it's always the weekend that Husband & I celebrate our birthdays, so I really hope to be able to participate.
Happy New Year!!!!
The hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay on checking off the first two runs!
thanks...and even though the 'runs' were cycle sessions on teh trainer, i'm counting it!
DeleteThat's an appropriately named first race back if you're running with your husband.
ReplyDeleteyes it is!
DeleteYour hair is beautiful. I am doing Cupid's Love Dash that same day in Feb. Have fun with it.
ReplyDeletehave fun with the race. i'm sure it will be a chilly one!
DeleteYour hair looks great! The Sweetheart Run sounds perfect!
ReplyDeletethanks. yes, it is at least perfectly timed!
DeleteI think your hair looks great too! My Mum went grey really young (as in, 20s!) but coloured her hair until recently so I have often wondered how I'll manage hair colour as I get older - I have some greys already and I'm only 30 but can't be bothered colouring regularly! I may just need to embrace silver ;)
ReplyDeleteembrace it! it's easier to embrace it as it comes in slowly than to convert from colored to uncolored hair. I regret all those years of coloring!
DeleteWhat is purple shampoo? I have never colored my hair and have lots of greys. Curious.
ReplyDeleteemailed you about it. :-)
DeleteThought your hair and cut looked good in that picture... and I'm seriously considering if we could in some strange way be twinned in time... I also decided to stop having my hair coloured a couple of years ago and decided to "go silver or whatever is underneath"... I've been surprised by the patches of dark, light and grey... I've never even heard of purple shampoo let alone tried it mind... are you sure you are not sending us all up on that one :)
ReplyDeletepurple shampoo is real!
Deleteall hail the "au naturale" look. i was surprised at what colors my hair had in it as well!
Emailed you - I use aveda blue malva.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair, looks gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletethanks. :-)
DeleteWow, I never noticed the silvers. you wear it so well!
ReplyDeleteit's more noticeable in person than in photos. but thanks. :-)
DeleteYour hair looks fab, can't even notice the 'silvers'
ReplyDeleteThanks. I really think they are more obvious in person. But I like them now!
