One step at a time...

This morning I did get to the gym for my upper body strength workout and while I was there I added 20mins on the dreadmill just to get some more running into my schedule. I brought my shuffle and tried to mix it up a bit by changing the dreadmill speed up or down when different songs came on so I could run to the rhythm. That was enough of a distraction to keep me moving for 20mins...one step at a time

I have found my job to be incredibly stressful for the past few weeks and today was no exception. To be perfectly honest, I don't handle stress very well and often let it get the best of me. I've had a few sleepless nights this week and that really needs to change. I'm looking forward to a longer run OUTSIDE tomorrow to clear my head. I intend to enjoy the moment for what it is and let my stress go...one step at a time

  1. I hope the stressful job gets better. I can certainly relate. Exercise helps to alleviate some of the stress.

  2. You and me both on the stress. I wish I handled it a little better, but not to be. I have had 2 or 3 stressful weeks. Let's hope it slows down for both of us!!

  3. That's the way - little by little :)
I hate stress too -but find the best thing is to get into self-nurture mode straight away ie make sure I get sleep and exercise and hugs and forget the stupid housework as far as possible. Hang in there!

  4. That is what running is all about sometimes, to clear the mind and loose yourself for a little while..

One step a time is always best, then you look back and say "how did I get here" then smile..

Here's to a stress free running weekend

  6. You sound a lot like me. I don't handle stress well AT ALL, and the only thing I have to deal with is the kids LOL. I hope you start feeling de-stressed soon!!

  9. I handle stress fine for awhile, but then I let it build up and then I'm a mess. It tends to go in cycles. It's a joy for my husband.

  11. I know just how you feel. And I consider myself lucky to have running and exercise to fall back on during those stressful times to keep you on track. And good workout, doing weights and then some cardio. Helps to make you stronger and burn more calories. I like workout games on the treadmill too to take the boredom away. Good luck on your long run tomorrow. I'll be out there joining you.
