August Tally

Numbers
* 66.8 miles running
* 31.5 miles by bike
* 6800 meters swimming
* 6 strength sessions at the gym
* No races.

Thoughts
* Half-Marathon training going well. Big confidence boost from this weekend's 9 mile run.
* Triathlon training, not so much. It's that darn bike (and my aversion to it)

Plans
* Show up and *try* to have fun at Patriot in 2 weeks (Eeek!!)
* Show up and have fun at final splash & dash in series in 3 weeks
* Continue progress with Half-Marathon training

Other Tidbits
* On Saturday, Husband & I celebrated 24th anniversary of our first date. Yes, it is very cool that he remembers. But thinking about how long we've known each other and how much life has changed since then sure makes me feel old!!
* I'm sporting a new hair color as of Friday. A darker chocolate brown. It's a fairly drastic change from the highlights, but I like it. I hope it doesn't fade too quickly.

  1. Congrats on 24 years since your first date! (Ours is easy to remember as we got married on the one year anniversary of our first date LOL).

  2. Congrats on the first date anniversary. Like Mama, mine is also easy to remember as it was on Halloween, don't ask.

    Love the hair! I just colored mine last night. Same color, my grays were showing; all ten million of them, not pretty.

  10. Hubby and I celebrated our 10-year dating anniversary in December. It's nice to remember... People are still shocked when they find out we've been together so long. (I'm 26, he's 27).

    Nice job on your training in August! Sounds like some fun plans coming up too.

  12. Your tri is right before mine. We'll have to help each other out. LOL (I wish we really could).

    I'm not willing to give up my highlights yet. I may have to someday soon if the price keeps going up though. :-/

    You can do tris without training much on the bike - you'll just be slower than you want :P

    I really need to take a cue from you and do a monthly tally. Maybe I'll give it a whirl in 2010, :)
