Tuesday Two-fer

I've been running without a schedule from coach for the first week of this month (guess the whole getting married thing took priority for the past few weeks), so I was basing it off what I've been doing in August.

Tuesday, I went out for a 5 mile run. When I came home, I realized that coach had emailed my schedule Monday evening - i just hadn't seen it yet. Five miles isn't exactly what I was supposed to do, but close enough.

In my last post I mentioned wanting to switch out my front tire. I did go out to Performance Monday afternoon and picked up a new tire for the front. I also got some ultra gatorskins for my commuter bike. When I got home, I promptl put the fresh tire on front. Then I decided to clean and lube the chain. And clean up the bike in general. I'll work on the commuter some other time.

Why mention this? Well, Tuesday evening is when the running group meets. I had already run in the morning, but I wanted to test out the new tire, etc. I hopped on and rode over to the meeting spot. Chatted a bit, then rode home. It was only 10.0 miles round trip, but every little bit helps my confidence that much more.

Today is scheduled as rest or cross training. I think I'm actually going to rest. Tomorrow is another run day, and Friday (also scheduled as rest or cross training) I'm planning to work with the Trainer and go for a bike ride with a friend. I'll rest again on Saturday, as the Patriot is Sunday morning.

p.s. Is it just me, or was it really weird to have Monday off and then start the week on a Tuesday? I was confused all day...
