Today was the first group run of the new year for our running group. I think eight of us showed up. The options were 30mins, 40mins, or 50mins easy. I opted for 40mins easy.
I started off with some others, but fell back after about half a mile because they were going too fast for my easy pace. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to show up to run with a group since most of the time I end up running by myself, but it definately helps to get me out the door and I enjoy chit-chatting before and after running so it's all good.
My stats for today:
* distance: 3.68miles
* avg pace: 11:19min/mi
* elevation change: +280/-275 ft
Knee is still doing well. That's good news. I'm also feeling some pain relief in my low back/right hip that I attribute to the chrioprator. Good stuff.
All in all, a successful run in my book.

ReplyDeleteGood news about the knee. I went to 1 group run back when I lived in Windsor... lost sight of the people after 2 mins... never went bcak LOL I find it more depressing than motivating for me.

That's a great run. Kudos to you for sticking to your pace and still enjoying the group aspect. So glad to hear you are feeling better in the back/hip too.

ReplyDeleteI love group running too. It's definitely a good motivator. Although, there is something nice about solo runs. You are getting the best of both worlds :)

ReplyDeleteSounds like your running is coming along again nicely. I always say that about meeting with a group and then bringing up the rear too, but it sounds like you have a good attitude about it.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, I think the best part of running with a group is simply the motivation to get out there and do it. I rarely end up running with people the whole way too. Good job!

ReplyDeleteNice run and I'm glad knee is doing well! I actually enjoy running with but not really WITH people like that-- it's usually what ends up happening when I run with my husband or mom. The companionship is still there!
