Group Run - Take 2

I did Yoga in the morning and had a weekday group run on my schedule for early evening.

It was particularly chilly today due to 20-30mph winds. Brrrrr. I definately would have skipped it if left to my own devices, but I showed up to run because of the group.

The plan was 30 mins easy. My Garmin battery was dead, so I'm really not sure if they slowed down or I sped up, but somehow I managed to stay with the group this time. It was nice to be running together (rather than alone) as it got dark when the sun went down.

We'll be running easy for a few weeks, then speedwork starts. Ick.

  1. Nice job. Group runs are great when the motivation is low or the weather is bad. I need to find me a group!

  2. Good job getting out there. Nothing like some company for a dark, cold run.

  7. My first group run was last Saturday... I could not keep up with my pace group! I was so disappointed and frustrated. It's encouraging to read that you were able to keep up with yours! Keep up the great work!

  9. Sometimes I really struggle with the idea of running with others, but, when I do, I usually find out that I can push myself further than I do on my own.

    Great job with the group!

  16. I would love to be able to do some group runs!!!

When i run i do run with another person or two sometimes so i guess we could be called a group of sorts???

It is definitely easier to get out there knowing someone is waiting for you!!!!

    Good job LISA!!!!

  17. Certainly a group run (or a race) would be the only way I'd get out in such cold. Kudos to you!!

  19. Goups are such a powerful force in our training. I also like your bringing it back the right way. A lesson for me to follow.

  20. I'm betting with your early day yoga warmup you were looser and more ready for the run so better able to keep up. I hope to get there someday! Nice job!

  22. That's what I like about group runs. They get you out there on days when you probably wouldn't do it on your own. Gotta love that peer pressure. :)
