- 3/4 mile warm up
- Drills (an assortment)
- 8x200m with 100m walk between
- Reverse direction walk around the track cool down
It felt good to do something structured, and I was happy to be able to put in my best 200 at the end.
Here's how it looks from my Garmin (I turned it off when we were standing still getting instruction between drills, otherwise, I just left it running the whole time):
I don't normally enjoy track workouts, but this time I did. How about you? How do you feel about track workouts?
I love the structure too! It's something about the oval that makes you run faster....
ReplyDeleteI don't do track work at all and I must be honest I don't plan to do any ever. With all my ultra goals I prefer to stay away from speedwork.
ReplyDeletenice job! i am one of those sickos who LOVES, i mean LOVES, speed work and track work. i eat it up!
ReplyDeleteNice workout! I love a good structured workout, and I find intervals make the time fly by.
ReplyDeleteI like running at the track from time to time, especially for speed work. It's a great place to take my kids in the summer too. They like to count my laps. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a love-hate relationship with track workouts. I hate the track while doing the workout, but I love it once I'm done. It makes me feel I did something good!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best job to improve your speed.
ReplyDeleteNo more track and long distance workouts for me. My injury has no solution.
