- Numbers -
Running: 23.25 miles. that's it?? yikes.
Cycling: 199.7 miles. Oh man, I wish I had gone an extra .3 somewhere
Swimming: 4900 yds :(
Other: 1 each of Zumba/Strength
Races: Run for the Zoo with a PR, baby!
- Thoughts -
It was frustrating to lose so much training time this month for a tweaked right leg early in the month and then a week of Bronchitis. But since I started the month off with a 10K PR and really kicked it up a notch on the bike, I don't feel like it was a total loss.
- Plans -
First full weekend in June has both the 100K bike tour and a 10K road race. After that, I'm going to try to focus on balancing out my running/cycling/swimming.
- EDIT -
Two things I feel like commenting on now so I don't need to include in a separate post.
1) I forgot to pack a sports bra on my trip. D'oh! So I needed to shop for one. That may have been a good thing, found something that I might like better than my others. Woot!
2) Came home to a broken water pipe on the roof. Had to turn the water off to the cooler. That means it's 90ish degrees and we have no cooler until Husband comes home on Thursday. Sigh. I'm going to bat my eyelashes at work tomorrow and see if I can get someone to help us out. Meahwhile, it's HOT in here.
The cycling looks awesome!! I don't know about the ":-(" next to the swimming . . .it looks like A LOT to me but I don't swim so I have NO idea how far that is LOL. And even still 10 yards would be enough for me hehe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the story. My sister had to have a blood tranfusion after the delivery of her first about twenty five years ago. Long story short, she got Hep C from it that went undiagnosed for twenty years. That was when they paid for donations, and many drug users sold their blood, and there were no tests in place for it yet. She just knew something was wrong all that time but she was treated like a flake. Then she had to go through chemo, and everyone in her support group (all drug users) are dead now. Plus her husband divorced her and now she has no insurance. I lost my kids in my bitter divorce (estrangement) and we used to "console" each other with whose situation was worse. She always won by saying, At least you have your health.
ReplyDeleteNext weekend ought to be a fun weekend for you!!
ReplyDeleteGreat cycling this month. You'll get right back into the swing of things with running, biking and swimming after your races next weekend, I'm sure of it :)
Balancing ... you and me both! I think your May looks great!
ReplyDeleteBest "well wishes" for June. Seems like that would be the best boost for your training statistics.
ReplyDeleteMaybe task of the month for June is to learn to focus on the achievments not the deficits!!! I will if you will - well done on a strong month mate :)
ReplyDeleteI think you had a great month! Oh, what kind of sports bra did you end up getting? I'm always in the market for better ones. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a decent month given the time off you were forced to take due to illness/inury
ReplyDeleteSOmebody told me just to round up (on the bike number). so hard to cheat!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Lisa!
Don't sweat the numbers! You had an icky I got shiz in my lungs thing going on :-) Having no cooler is a complete bummer! Be careful batting your eyelashes though ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat monthly totals! Your bike totals are impressive! Sounds like the little break from working out didn't hurt you too much. And what a way to ruin a weekend, with the broken water pipe. If you want to stay cool, come up north! LOL! Although they do tell us it will be 80 today.
ReplyDeleteThat's some nice cycling miles there.. Looks like a good monthly plan coming up...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the broken pipe. I hate when stuff breaks in the house..
Well done for a month with so many challenges! Look at that great bike total! Are you excited about this next weekend? The other stuff will balance out after that.
ReplyDeleteAnd? How much fun that you flew over the San Diego Marathon in progress!! Do you know RBR? Did you wave to her down there? :D
Not to be too personal...what kind of sports bra did you get...I need a couple of new ones!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the masses, your numbers look great!
Take Care
I am glad you are doing better !!! That is so neat that you found a new bra...I am always looking for new and better ones:>D.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on the Century! I am doing a Century too next weekend--Litle Red Ridinghood Tour.
ReplyDeleteAwesome monthly totals!
Isela
Whoa.. nice numbers on the bike! Hope it aint too hot.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth - got the broken water pipe to the cooler replaced thanks to a friend from work. Ahhhhhh. Life seems much better now. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that the eye-batting worked!
ReplyDeleteWhen you're sick or injured, it sure can throw those numbers. But you still did a good job!
ReplyDeleteYou really made up for the lack on running out on the bike. Nice job!! Bat those lashes and wear something low cut. That's too hot to go without air!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHey...way to bat those eyelashes and solve the problem..
ReplyDeleteyou did, bat those eyelashes, right??
your bike numbers kill mine... but I know my swim numbers were a bit north of yours.....
great month, considering your issues...
Almost 200, baby! Awesome May stats.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's not a total loss given you started the month w/ a 10k pr & rocked the bike DESPITE the bronchitis & the tweaked leg.
