Tuesday Tidbits

I wanted to summarize my Feb, but that needs to wait because I don't have that info handy at the moment but wanted to share some of my recent thoughts

I'm afraid to step on the scale. I had been doing really well and was getting close to my desired "race weight" but then my eating habits basically took a nose dive for the worst.  Sigh.

I killed my old pedometer by accidentally putting it through the laundry. Got a new one and about 10 days later the led segments in the hundreds and thousands places stopped working.  What.The.Heck?!?!  So now I need yet another one.

Decision has been made regarding which half marathon I'm doing. Oral surgeon took the Albuquerque Half is off the table because of necessary recovery time.  So I will sign up for the Run for the Zoo half which is two weeks later.

I suck at yoga. Yes, I know it's not a competition sport but I seriously suck at it. I am not very flexible, or patient, or able to focus when I'm doing it.  I know it is supposed to help calm you down, but it ends up stressing me out.  Except for that deep relaxation bit at the end.  I can do that.  Please tell me I'm not the only one who struggles with yoga.

  1. You are definitely not the only one! I always find it hard to find my inner yogi when they are asking me to dislocate my 3rd elbow's chakra and do the funky chicken. I just learn to laugh at myself and then it gtes better :)

  2. I really suck at yoga. I am totally inflexible and yes, relax at the end. Glad to hear I'm not alone.

    1. It really does help to see that there are others that struggle with yoga!

  3. My name is Christine and I suck at yoga! I'm not flexible at all, can't touch toes, I'm lucky if I can touch my knees. My favorite part is the end as well :)

  4. I suck at yoga too. I'm inherently inflexible so putting my head on my knees is never going to happen. And I'll only do yoga at home because it depresses me to be around people who can just drop into the splits without even warming up.

    1. I'm at the point where I'll only do it at home too...

  5. Yoga and I are not on good terms, either. It's ok.

Don't worry about the scale. You'll get things back on track - especially now that you have a half on the schedule!

  6. I hope the Run for the Zoo half runs through a zoo. Would be fun!

    1. Starts and ends at the zoo entrance and runs near the zoo, but not through it. We get to enter for free afterwards though.

  7. I used to be so flexible....until this running thing. The corpse pose at the end though is the bomb.

  8. I really like yoga but I think the key is to only do it for yourself. Glad you found a race - will you run past the zoo animals?

    1. We'll run bay the zoo and see them; it raises money for the zoo and we get free entry afterwards

  9. A race two weeks later seems perfect. I put my Polar through the laundry a while back and luckily it is still working. I avoid yoga for many bodily reasons :)

  10. I hear you on the yoga. I'm terrible at it too. I much prefer my trainer's workouts coupled with my running.
