While I enjoyed cycling on Friday, it's nowhere near the same for me as running. I love running. I don't love cycling. *sigh*
A few of you asked whether I have thought about trying to see a different specialist. I have considered it, but it only gets me in about one week earlier and a new person won't have my medical history available. All-in-all, I think seeing the same guy a week later is still the fastest path to getting this worked out.
I've decided that my 'run' total this month will include miles walked. It's my life, my log, my rules. :-)
Have a fun weekend everyone!
Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteIt must be so frustrating not being able to do what you love. I know that you don't like biking as much as running but look on the bright side...at least you are keeping active:) You need to take care of yourself and let your injury heal. Good luck at your appointment with the specialist! You have a great weekend too:)
Hang in there girl, I know it's tough. You don't have to love cycling, that's okay. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's tough getting sidelined by injury, especially since you've been sidelined so many times before!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the knee. Hope it gets better soon. I concur about liking biking but not loving it.
ReplyDeleteHang in there! Hope the issue gets resolved quickly once you get in!
ReplyDeleteAs the seemingly poster child for injuries, my advice is to do what you can to best position yourself when you get better. That is just a matter of time but waiting is frustrating.
ReplyDeleteSending you healing thoughts!
ReplyDeleteJust curious, if you keep calling the doctor's office to check on cancellations, do you think it would help to get you in quicker? We have a list of people who want or need appointments on certain days IF those open up before their scheduled appointment.
"I don't love cycling"
ReplyDeleteMaybe it'll grow on you?
Glad you were able to get in some cycling, even if your knee wasn't cooperating on the hills. I hope it starts to feel better!
ReplyDeleteI love your rules :)
ReplyDeleteI love making rules as we go! That's how I ref :-)
ReplyDeleteIts still a hill, impressive looking one as well
ReplyDeleteI think it's smarter to stick with your current doc. He's got the medical history, you won't need to waste time trying stuff that you might have already done.
ReplyDeleteWalking TOTALLY counts. It's hard too!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you about cycling. I find running so much more enjoyable, but I have to start spending more time on that darn bike if I'm going to get any faster on that.
ReplyDeleteI don't love cycling either. I like it, but I don't love it, so I get that...completely.
ReplyDeleteThat is one heckuva hill though
Sorry the knee wasn't having the hills. Walking totally counts!
ReplyDeleteoh i do hope that something starts to work for you, as I do understand the not loving anything quiet like running. Do you take Glucosamin? I started taking it and noticed a change in my knees almost right away
ReplyDeleteHee, I'm the opposite. With the heat & high humidity now, I'm much happier on my bike than out running. But I see nothing wrong with counting all miles run or walked. I think run-walkers do that all the time.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!!
Oh everything counts! it's totally your rules! Rest that knee up:)
