The Present

Yesterday is History
Tomorrow is a Mystery
Today is a Gift
That's why its called the Present

Today it is absolutely beautiful outside. Sunny and 62 Deg. Nicest day we've had for months. I would love to be outside running or cycling, but instead I'm stuck inside with a cold virus. It doesn't seem fair, but I'm not going to complain (Really!).

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to a funeral for the husband of a co-worker. He was only 44 years old.

Makes you think, huh?

My advice to myself and whoever is reading this - Go hug someone you love. Take time to thank the One who gave you the Present in the first place. Stop complaining about what you don't have or can't do and enjoy what you do have and can do. And examine your heart to make sure you're ready for the day when your time on earth is History...

  2. I think we all have a beginning and an ending. What happens in between is up to us, might as well make the best of it and share it with the people we most care about.

  3. Good reminder. It can be so easy to get caught up in the little things and forget the big picture.

  4. Amen! Always hug and kiss your loved ones good bye. Even if you will be back in 15 minutes. Life is short. Well said, Lisa.

  5. Life is unpredictable. I always give my boyfriend a kiss when he leaves the house. Always. It has been established in a study that the likelihood of a man not having an accident or not getting into trouble increases if he gets a little kiss on the doorstep. Isn't that cool?

    Hope you get better soon.

  7. Nothing like the untimely death of someone we know to stop and make us think huh?
Don't fret, you won't loose your fitness by laying off a week or 2.
You will be stronger after the forced rest.
    The Mommy lecture...
Learn from me... I once tried to continue working out HARD through a bad cold, it turned into bronchitis....I still didn't slow down and it went into pleuritis, and I suffered with chest pains during a hard workout for 9 months after. The key word here is HARD. It's OK to do something short and easy, but only if you don't have a fever. If there's a fever stay in bed.
