Thoughts from the nightstand

Sunday afternoon I went on an 18mil bike ride with my running-friend-gone-cyclist. We had beautiful weather, really couldn't have asked for a better day, and were both excited about doing it again this next coming weekend. Then I looked at the weather forcast which doesn't look so promising for the holiday weekend. Bleh!

Today I had an early morning PT appt. It was actually my second to last one. Can you believe it? I am so almost done with that! Yesssssssss. We talked about the progression of exercises that I will need to do for the next 6 weeks. Assuming I stick with it, by mid-Jan I should be back to my old running self (emphasis on old...hahahah). Meanwhile, I'm building up slowly and remaining diligent to the PT stuff.

I have a lot on my workout schedule for tomorrow. Upper body, core, pseudo-run intervals, and my PT exercises. I think I'm going to have to get to the gym 30-45mins earlier than usual to fit it all in. Not happy about the thought of an extra early morning.

I guess I should call it a night instead of blog reading/commenting. YAWN!!

  8. Nice job on the bike ride. The weather WAS awesome this weekend. I'm not too thrilled about it getting colder starting on Thanksgiving - that was enough for Jeff and I to decide not to do a Turkey Trot. (and I even ran in the super cold for the Tammy Redman in Jan.!!) I think I'm all "raced out."

  20. Wow...I just caught up on the last week or so. I'm glad you got in the workouts, the stress test went well and you are back to run/walk intervals.

As for the flat tire, you might want to look into these.... http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=42100&eid=355

I've had 1 flat in over 1200 miles, it was a staple from a construction site. I took my bike in for a tune up, mentioned the flat on my last ride and they replaced the tire and comped me a new tube to take home. "satisfaction guarantee" AWESOME!

Steve has had a pair and put 3000 miles on them with no flats...insane!

  21. Great job on keeping up with the PT exercises. They can be so boring sometimes. But it sounds like you're doing great!

You'll be hitting the pavement in no time.

  22. Great job balancing everything! PT exercises are so important to keep up with -- I have a friend who is rehabbing an injury and, like you, she is very diligent with her exercises.

2009 is going to be great for you!
