Tuesday update

Personal Trainer appointment was interesting. His main focus is on good form and developing muscle for good posture and healthy bones/joints. He gave me 4 upper body exercises. One I was doing before, the others are new. I learned that my right shoulder is weaker than my left and that my biceps are "developed" but my triceps are "weak". Next time we talk about lower body. After that, I will be asking him about core.

Running group had us doing 3x3min hard with 2 min easy between followed by 3x2 min hard; this was with a warm-up/cool-down of 15mins each. Garmin suggests that I was running a 9:00min/mi pace +/- 10 secs for each hard repitition. I didn't even know I could run that fast. I guess that's what happens when you are on a track and only running hard for a short duration.

Had a routine physical today during which, doctor discovered an abnormal heart beat and ordered an immediate EKG. Seems I have PVCs (aka arrythmias). May be related to anxiety. Scared me at first, but I think it is going to turn out to be okay.

House looks pretty good. I should sleep okay tonght. Too bad I didn't think to take before pics; without them you have no idea what it took to achieve this. Instead I have one of the garage...our hideout for all things that have been banned from the house for the next 5 days or so.

I may disappear for the next 4-5 days. You are all in my thoughts. Have fun out there, folks!!

  7. LOL! Isn't it amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years? As George Carlin said, you have to keep buying bigger houses to put all your "stuff" in. Your running is going great! I bet these track workouts give you a surprise at your next race.

  11. Oh I'm so jealous of those curved archways. I've always wanted those. So cute. I did a huge housecleaning this weekend too. Great job! Oh and take care of that ticker, glad it's nothing serious.

  16. The house looks awesome!

I hope everything turns out ok with the EKG. That's stress that you don't really need right now. :)

Hopefully your trainer also explained that 99.9% of people have muscle imbalances. Once you even everything out, you'll really see improvements!

  21. My positive thoughts are going to you and your heart...

I did a whole post after we finally cleaned out our garage (and got the car into it! after years of not having the car in the garage) it is very exciting once you get it clean - just like your house I suppose, but it clutters up so easily darn it!
Now we down sized our house, (just moved) and well turned the 1 car garage into a toy room for the kids... all that hard work, gone....

  22. I have the same problem with weak triceps. And that's what our garage looks like too. Tonight we managed to set up both bikes to do the spin workout, but it wasn't easy in there!

  23. I'm still just sick with envy over your scoot-scoot. It eclipses everything else. Except that, oh, my garage isn't terribly cluttered (Baboo would disagree) but I do have the room from heck that fills up whenever I clean out some other part of the house. It is the Room That Nobody Goes In because of the mess in there.

  24. Nice job on that speedwork! It really is true, the returns are amazing, and I agree with the others, you're going to drop those times faster than you'd think!
I just started seeing a trainer about 2 weeks ago, and wow. I can already see the difference. (though my arms are still puny lol) How often do you have sessions? I'm at 2x/wk....
