Thoughts from the Nightstand

I wonder... if I take half a dose of nyquil at 1am, will it help with cold symptoms and let me get to sleep without oversleeping?

Oh.My.Gosh, I just realized that my 8 on the 8th time turns out to be 88mins. What a strange coincidence.

That's almost a full min per mile faster than my half mary time. I think I want to work on maintaining that pace for a half mary. Could I do it?

Is that a cold sore forming on my lip. Wonderful. I feel like crud and now I'm going to look like crud.

I wonder what is making those vertical shadows on the wall. It doesn't make any sense

I wish it would snow just a little bit. Enough with the rain already.

Why do viruses make us cough and get congested. I don't think anyone has ever explained what do they do to the body that causes those reactions.

I hope I feel better in the morning.

I'm so tired. I just want to get back to sleep...

  2. They start invading and replicating. Your body sees them as foreign and sends a whole bunch of crap (different kinds of cells) to try to eradicate them. When the cells come a calling, the fluids (congestion) comes too. It's actually your body's natural defense trying to get rid of them. Does that help?? :D

    88 minutes?? I can't believe I didn't catch that. Congrats!!

  4. Here's hoping you wake up feeling all good and ENERGISED!

I like the "modified" header, but I still think you are being far too modest with the turtle bit. You are getting faster and faster my friend!

Thanks for checking on me, Liza. Yup, it's been 4 months of soul searching, but I have finally found myself (again) and have a new blog "Life to the Full". Hope to see you there!

88 minutes for 8 on the 8th is pretty freaky, and fast! Good job!

  9. Hope you feel better. I hate being up in the middle of the night. It's a nightly occurence lately, thanks to the kids. Those viruses are nasty.

  11. Sounds like my last 2 nights! Although I don't have a cold. I just wake up and think all kinds of crazy things and then start worrying about stuff.

And what's with the 8s? That's a pretty good time though. I was hoping for around that time too. Maybe soon! And hope you feel better soon too!

  14. OMG...I hate nights like that, mine happened the night before on our way back from Honolulu when my knee kept waking me up.

Thanks for stopping by and posting about my rambling of the Honolulu Marathon. I'm coming to terms with my time and I know that overall I truly enjoyed the event and the vacation.
