Mid-week miscellany

Official Cherry Garcia chip time says I finished in 01:05:29 - that's 30secs faster than I thought. How could I have lost 30secs? I was sloppy with my watch, that's how! I didn't start it right away and I didn't end it right away so I kinda' rounded up.

Tuesday I picked up a new pair of running shoes. I wish they didn't alway upgrade shoes. I liked what I had, but they don't make them anymore. Now I have a new model. I bought one pair. If I like them, I'll buy a second in a different color and start my rotating thing. They last longer that way. Plus I get to postpone the agony of trying yet a new model when they decide that these are no longer good enough to manufacture. Sigh.

Last night Husband & I got to go on a date to watch Bruce Hornsby & Ricky Skaggs in concert at the zoo *without* our children. And this weekend the kids are going on a church youth group camping trip Fri-Sun which allows us to go on *another* date without the kids. Gosh, and we could count the Cherry Garcia race as a date too, since we didn't bring the kids with us that evening either. Incredible, huh? I've been waiting 15yrs for us to find time alone together again. I'm liking it. :)

Short term race plans are few and far between. Next up is Socorro Chile Harvest Sprint Tri (Aug) and the Chips -n- Salsa half Mary (Sep). Nothing planned for July as of yet. Of course, that is how June started off too. We'll see what happens...

  1. Well, you have approximately 2.5 days(July 1) to sign up for the Bottomless Tri in Roswell (July 8)- 400m open water swim (got to get back on that horse), 8.5 mile bike, 2.5 mile run.

  9. Enjoy your time while you can. Before you know it, there will be grandkids! But at least you can send them home. Yeah, yeah, sign up for that tri in July. Keep your calendar full.

  10. Glad they keep more official track of time, good job on the race.

So I've only got about 11 more years until a date with hubby? I hope I still recognize him by then, right now we're just people that pass in the hall sometimes.

  11. I had nothing planned for July either. Then my next race came in the mail. A little flyer from Fleet Feet, they sponsored a small race I ran last year. Why not?

If the heat does not kill me, I might be looking for more.

  12. How was Bruce Hornsby? I have always loved his music, so I hope it was good.

Even if you don't find a race to do in July, you can always create your own.
