Mid-week Misc.

Is it just me or is it TOO HOT?!?! It was still 91deg at 9pm when I picked Son up from HS Band practice. That is crazy. I don't even wanna know what temp it was when I was riding home from work today. Luckily our cooler is working and since most of our house has adobe exterior walls, it's well insulated. And that certainly gives me incentive to stay INDOORS. Blowing off planned running left and right, though...

What ever happened to the ice cream man? I want one of those orange push pops right about now. Doesn't that sound good? Mmmmmmm. When I was a kid, I could count on the ice cream man coming by on a hot afternoon, but now the ice cream man never comes by my house. :(

Made a deal with Daughter. She'll continue to give me pedicures if I pay her for it. It's a win-win. She'll accept $3 for a half hour of work, does a nice job, and I don't have to drive anywhere or pay too much. She had been doing it for free before, but I guess it's only fair to pay for it. It's not like I can (in good faith) assign that to her as a chore. LOL.

Operation Aquarium is still going okay. All the fish are still alive. Water parameters look okay. Family interest and participation is still moderate. Moods are generally positive.

Sleep/mood journal is proving to be interesting.

Husband IM'd me telling me he's on his way to the airport to come home.

Life is good. :)

  1. You better hope she doesn't find out what silly women like me pay for those things. She'll be asking for a raise!

  2. Love it when the ice cream man comes down my street. Unfortunately whenever the kids hear the little bells and song played they get all nutty LOL

  3. LOL. When my kids ask me to pay them for stuff, I ask them how much it costs for warm food and a warm bed :-) Never works for me either!! I avoid ice cream now like the plague! and they always have Ben and Jerry's at the check out line in Blockbuster. It's evil I tell ya!!!

  4. We don't have an ice cream man anymore -but we USED to! And he would seem to show up right before dinner on our street! Oh well, it's summertime, right?
We have AC and swamp cooling....but I was lazy this year and never got the cooler going-went straight to the AC instead! I will regret that when we get the electric bill!

  6. Uummm, ice cream...

Glad to hear the fish are holding up. Usually, if they make it past the first few days, they should be ok.

  7. Sounds hot. We don't get the ice cream man around here too much anymore either. I did see him a few times around the school I was at on hot days.

  8. Ah yes, the good ol' days. These days, you wonder about the ice cream man! I have to say this: at least you have SOME sort of cooling in your house. When its 91 here, the humidity is about the same and NO air. Do not despair, your running is fine. You ust do what you can do.

  9. We still have an ice cream man. Luckily on these hot days. I,ve been trying to get up early to workout and that has helped.

I'd love to have the nail deal that you do. Lucky you.

    Thanks for the donation-you're awesome.

  10. I still like the chore idea, or maybe it should be their duty to take care of us when they get older.. Right now it is hard to tell my little kiddo to do things for me. I can't wait till she gets older :)

  11. Wow, that is hot! Even tropical Singapore is closer to 80F at night (90F in the day).

You are under paying your daugther, I will have to call the child labour guys on you. R1 gets $5 for washing my car. :-)

Praise God that the blood results were good. I tend to have sleep problems too, but exercise and prayer helps much.

  12. I have a great technique for cooling down the house when it's hot inside and cool outside, which may not help you guys, but we use it here where it gets really hot a few weeks each summer. You put a huge square fan on a window and blow air into the room, and hopefully it goes out the other open windows in the house!

  13. Hope you can cool down soon. I have not thought about an orange push up thing for years, now I will have to have one.
